Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relevance of Fazlur Rahman's Hermeneutic thought in answering contemporary issues in Islam related to Human Rights (HAM). Fazlur Rahman, a prominent Islamic scholar, has made valuable contributions in the context of Islamic hermeneutics by stressing the importance of contextualization and rational interpretation of Islamic religious texts. Human rights issues, such as gender equality, religious freedom, and minority protection, are increasingly pressing topics in contemporary Muslim societies. This research will analyze Fazlur Rahman's thoughts and try to apply his hermeneutic concepts in addressing human rights issues in Islam. Case studies will be used to illustrate how Fazlur Rahman's thought can be applied in concrete contexts and how his contributions can help formulate a more inclusive and appropriate view of Islam to contemporary demands. The results of this study are expected to provide deeper insight into how Fazlur Rahman's hermeneutic thinking can contribute to the understanding and implementation of human rights in Muslim societies. The research also has the potential to promote dialogue between Islam and international human rights principles, which are important in achieving universal respect for human rights.
